Only ACUMEN'S Braking System provides a critical "communications link" between your hitch and tow vehicle, constantly transmitting the braking force required to safely optimize your trailer's braking performance.

How the ACUMEN BRAKING SYSTEM works:

1. ACUMEN’s exclusive “sensored hitch” detects the braking forces demanded by your trailer when you apply brake pressure.  These sensors are built into Acumen’s hitches and are capable of detecting even the smallest differences in braking force between your tow vehicle and your trailer, at hundreds of times per second.
2. This “Brake Force Data” is then transmitted to the brake module via Acumen’s unique data link between tow-vehicle and trailer.  Acumen is the only system that utilizes this critical linkage, thus enabling the system to automatically update and adjust for constantly changing variables and forces between your trailer and tow vehicle.  Other manufacturers rely on you to “manually” adjust their system – thus creating the “weak-link” in today’s brake controllers.
3. After receiving the “Brake Force Data” from Acumen’s sensored hitch, the precise amount of required brake power is calculated within the system’s brake module, hundreds of times per second.
4. This precise brake-power signal is then immediately transmitted to the trailer’s brakes providing a smooth, effective and precise control of your trailer’s brakes.  After the system is installed, NO MANUAL ADJUSTMENTS ARE REQUIRED – EVER.
